Film Premiere: “If An Owl Calls Your Name”

Local filmmakers and SAND co-founders Maurizio and Zaya Benazzo present their new documentary on November 30 at 6:30 pm at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. The film follows healers and community leaders from Esk’etemc, Gitxsan, and Wet’suwet’en territories, also known as British Columbia, as they share stories of resilience, ceremony, and intergenerational healing. Born into a world shaped by the violence of forced assimilation, they move through trauma, memory, and cultural loss toward reconnection and deep remembrance. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.
