Community Seed Exchange-Processing Dry Seeds from Garden

​​Once you start growing your own seed it is important to know how to separate the seed from the chaff!
Seed saving gives us the opportunity to work with full life cycle of a plant not just the edible parts. If you have not winnowed seed before it can be an incredibly satisfying task that connects us to our ancestor’s traditional stewardship of seeds from foraged and grown crops for centuries.
In this hands-on class, you will learn a variety of seed processing techniques.Try your hand at cleaning seeds harvested from our seed garden.
We will use simple winnowing techniques from bowls as well as specialized seed screens and old school machines.

Class will be held on the north side of the Seed Library in the shade.

Come harvest seed with us at our Seed Garden Work Party 9am-11am on the church grounds
Our Seed Library will also be open from 9am-12pm-lots of free seeds for the community grown in our seed garden and donated by community!
