Led by registered yoga teacher\, Joy Jacobsen\, this session offers an opportunity to simply be with yourself\, surrounded by nature\, listening to the gentle vibrations of the world in a safe\, peaceful\, and restorative space. \nWe’ll begin with a peaceful stroll to the orchard from our Farm Shop. Feel free to bring your own mat\, though we’ll also provide one if needed. Then we’ll move into gentle standing stretches and mindful breathing—essential practices that prepare the body to become limber\, relaxed\, and comfortable for stillness. As you settle into a 20-minute meditation\, Joy will hold space for your practice\, opening and closing the session with the soothing sound of a singing bowl. \nWe’ll conclude the experience back at the farm shop with fresh apple cider and sliced heirloom apples. \nJoy brings firsthand experience from training in Hatha and Vinyasa yoga in Goa\, India\, and from completing a three-week silent meditation retreat in Thailand. Her welcoming\, supportive approach creates an ideal environment for both experienced practitioners and those new to meditation. You’ll also find her warmth at Gold Ridge Organic Farms\, where she manages the Farm Shop and is a familiar\, friendly face to our community.

Marion will guide you through the basics of composition\, color theory\, and image selection. This workshop is designed for people of all creative levels who wish to learn collage and mixed media skills\, connect with the community\, and engage in meaningful self-expression.\nStudents will have access to a curated selection of collage materials\, paints\, and scissors\, and are encouraged to bring magazines and personal images of choice. We will explore image selection and composition\, image transfer\, combining collage with acrylics and watercolors\, embedding 3D objects\, choosing mounting surfaces\, framing\, and more. Marion will offer individual and group guidance in each class. \nWhile we’ll appreciate the aesthetic aspects of the work\, we will value the meaning and emotional resonance of each piece. DESCRIPTION:Art as Self-Discovery: Mixed Media Art\nThursdays\, 6:00-9:00pm\, September 17th\, 24th\, October 1st\, 8th\nAttendance: $275.00 + $10.00 Materials Fee \nIn this 4 session series\, students will explore the art of creating mixed-media art with multiple techniques. Marion will guide you through the basics of composition\, color theory\, and image selection. This workshop is designed for people of all creative levels who wish to learn collage and mixed media skills\, connect with the community\, and engage in meaningful self-expression.\nStudents will have access to a curated selection of collage materials\, paints\, and scissors\, and are encouraged to bring magazines and personal images of choice. We will explore image selection and composition\, image transfer\, combining collage with acrylics and watercolors\, embedding 3D objects\, choosing mounting surfaces\, framing\, and more. Marion will offer individual and group guidance in each class. \nWhile we’ll appreciate the aesthetic aspects of the work\, we will value the meaning and emotional resonance of each piece. This is a space for connection and non-judgement\, where your unique creative expression matters above all – inviting curiosity and play to reveal new pathways of seeing and creating. \nStudents are encouraged to bring the following materials:\n• Gloves\n• Preferred Glue\n• Preferred scissors \nAbout the Teacher: Marion Ruta Segal is Certified in Creative Arts Therapies  (The New School\, NYC) and practicing mixed media artist with nearly 20 years of teaching experience in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work includes painting\, collage\, and mixed media\, and she has exhibited publicly since 2013. Marion has taught at community organizations and at the college level\, leading workshops that invite students into exploratory\, meaning-focused making – grounding them in core methods and aesthetics including design\, color theory\, and composition. She brings warmth\, depth\, and attunement to the studio\, helping participants feel comfortable and meeting them wherever they are creatively

SUMMARY:The Sacred Feminine\, Now More than Ever An Evening Consideration for Women and Men
DESCRIPTION:Tonight’s invitation is to spend some time with two elders\, women who have been walking a Path of the Sacred for many decades: Ginny Matthews within Buddhism and as an elder with “Women of Spirit and Faith\,” and Regina Sara Ryan in both Christian and Hindu spiritual communities. With them\, we’ll consider what the Sacred Feminine is\, along with its relation to and need for the Sacred Masculine\, and how we may encourage these essential aspects of our souls\, for our own benefit and for the healing of a sorely wounded world. \nMyosho Ginny Matthews finds her life’s support in the three pillars of family\, spiritual practice\, and her work as a dancer/ choreographer and teacher. She was a student of Kyozan Joshu Sasaki\, Roshi for forty years\, taking ordination in 2000 and supporting Myoko Ni Sorin\, a women’s practice center\, co-founding Dharma Heart Center\, and leading women’s retreats at various centers in the USA and Canada. Her marriage of over fifty years\, three adult sons\, and four grandchildren provide a rich and deep family life. \nRegina Sara Ryan\, a professional writer and freelance editor\, is the author of numerous books\, including The Woman Awake\, Praying Dangerously\, and Igniting the Inner Life. A former Catholic nun\, Regina has studied contemplation and mysticism from several traditions for over forty years. She currently conducts study groups\, retreats and workshops in the U.S.\, Mexico and Europe. Married for forty-seven years\, Regina was widowed in 2019. She resides as a hearth-keeper at Triveni Ashram\, Paulden\, Arizona.
