DESCRIPTION:John is an internationally known flutist/composer known for his fluency with the western flute and the North Indian bansuri (bamboo flute)\, which he learned from the great bansuri maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia. The sound of the bansuri is deeply healing\, mystical\, and grounding. The composer of the “Facing East” group\, John will be accompanied by Gina Macioce on vocal and keyboard and Eric “Doc” Smith on the electronic “ZenDrum\,” which incorporates many world music drum sounds. Gina has spent the last decade with several great vocal masters as well as years of deep meditation practice with a spiritual guru. SUMMARY:Soul Motion®: Body Prayer every Sunday in person
DESCRIPTION:BODY PRAYER IS A FACILITATED EVENT DEVOTED TO INQUIRY INTO EMBODIED CONSCIOUSNESS THROUGH MOVEMENT. \nThis class is offered every Sunday morning\, and led by Zuza Engler or another teacher. It is usually attended by a vibrant & diverse bunch of welcoming and friendly people\, some of whom have practiced Soul Motion® for years\, while some ~ never before. \nWhat to expect \nGuidance and structure are part of every week’s class as we travel across the four landscapes of Soul Motion®:\nDance Infinite (prayer space)\nDance Community (ensemble)\nDance Communion (duet)\nDance Intimate (solo) \nPractices\, structures\, and points of view are offered to facilitate the journey. Participants are invited to travel across all landscapes\, not just their favorite one: dancing by oneself\, in duet\, in ensemble with several people and eventually the whole room\, or witnessing in stillness the beauty of another’s or of everyone’s dance. \nBody Prayer offers a place to be safely uncomfortable as we experiment with ourselves and with each other in our awkward and magnificent dance at the edge of possibility. \nNo experience necessary! Everyone welcome!

SUMMARY:Flora & Fauna - Watercolor Course with Hannah Day at Bohemian Flowers Farm
DESCRIPTION:In this 4 week course\, participants will learn a unique approach to watercolor\, intended to alleviate the frustration that many experience when learning this beautiful yet challenging medium. The class will focus on strengthening one’s observational skills\, giving the artist a foundation off of which to build their paintings in a step by step layering process\, that trains the artist to see value and color \nOur subject matter will be flora and fauna – a sampling of plants and animals. These subjects are great for beginners and experienced artists alike; their organic shapes make them forgiving drawing subjects\, but their beauty can be a muse for life. \nThis class will work both from photographs and from life\, practicing observational drawing in addition to watercolor technique. With 4 class sessions\, participants will have the opportunity to develop their skills and build muscle memory with a medium that often feels like it has a mind of its own. \nAll materials provided. \nLocation: Bohemian Flowers Farm\, 121 Bohemian Hwy\, Freestone\, CA \nDates: Four Sundays – March 8\, 15\, 22\, 29 \nTime: 1 – 4 pm \nAges: Adults \nSkill Levels: All Levels

SUMMARY:The Edge of the World
DESCRIPTION:Music with Cook & Rose \nI sailed to the end of the world\nMy little boat took it pretty hard\nAnd when we went over the edge\nWe ended up right back at the start \nThroughout his life\, Christopher Cook has been puzzled by the world. From his roots in folk and blues\, he explores stories in song. Ten years ago\, Emmy Rose joined in with her vocals and harmonium. Together they create an evocative sound that has been described by listeners as haunting and beautiful. \nCook & Rose have recorded two albums: “Honey from Dried Grass” and “The Lonesome American\,” and have performed in concert halls and coffeehouses all over the West. They invite you to come\, listen\, and enjoy an evening of their original music.
