Come celebrate creativity\, connection\, and the spirit that makes our community shine! \nWhat does it mean to belong – and how can art help us get there?\nThe Belonging Project\, is an outdoor installation that brings together the voices of 10 artists\, each responding to the powerful and personal theme of belonging in their own way. Installed along a shared space\, the works explore connection\, identity\, place\, and community. From sculpture to interactive elements\, these pieces invite viewers not only to observe\, but to participate – to share\, reflect\, and engage. \nAt the heart of the project is a question: Can art bring us closer to one another? We believe it can. That belief drives our mission to create spaces where everyone can feel seen\, welcomed\, and part of something larger. \nSome of the installations directly engage with the surrounding fence – transforming it into a canvas for shared expression. She has been creating since a young age and prefers things to be colorful and messy. \nMelinda F. is a local crafter that has led felting classes and is experienced in knitting\, crochet\, weaving and sewing. She’s an experimenter at heart and loves to try new things. \nKathryn D. is a life long quilter\, fabric dyer and surface design artist who tries to make crazy ideas come to life in fabric. \nPenelope L. is a local artist and recycler working in soft sculpture and its intersections. She also has a ponytail that requires scrunchies to maintain\, which inspired her specially-curated educational program for this event. \nFree for members\, donations accepted!

For children under the age of 10\, we recommend having an older sibling or adult register to join us and make a monster\, too! \nAbout the Instructor: From her earliest memories\, Jenny Lauck has always loved making little odd ball friends\, using a variety of mediums. After too many years without a creative outlet\, Jenny took ceramics courses at Santa Rosa Junior College. As soon as she got her hands on the clay again\, simple shapes started to develop personalities of their own\, and families of ceramic monsters were born. Jenny is the Saturday morning facilitator for the Sebastopol Center for the Arts Ceramics Studio.
