DESCRIPTION:Art as Self-Discovery: Mixed Media Art\nThursdays\, 6:00-9:00pm\, September 17th\, 24th\, October 1st\, 8th\nAttendance: $275.00 + $10.00 Materials Fee \nIn this 4 session series\, students will explore the art of creating mixed-media art with multiple techniques. Marion will guide you through the basics of composition\, color theory\, and image selection. This workshop is designed for people of all creative levels who wish to learn collage and mixed media skills\, connect with the community\, and engage in meaningful self-expression.\nStudents will have access to a curated selection of collage materials\, paints\, and scissors\, and are encouraged to bring magazines and personal images of choice. We will explore image selection and composition\, image transfer\, combining collage with acrylics and watercolors\, embedding 3D objects\, choosing mounting surfaces\, framing\, and more. Marion will offer individual and group guidance in each class. \nWhile we’ll appreciate the aesthetic aspects of the work\, we will value the meaning and emotional resonance of each piece. This is a space for connection and non-judgement\, where your unique creative expression matters above all – inviting curiosity and play to reveal new pathways of seeing and creating. \nStudents are encouraged to bring the following materials:\n• Gloves\n• Preferred Glue\n• Preferred scissors \nAbout the Teacher: Marion Ruta Segal is Certified in Creative Arts Therapies  (The New School\, NYC) and practicing mixed media artist with nearly 20 years of teaching experience in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work includes painting\, collage\, and mixed media\, and she has exhibited publicly since 2013. Marion has taught at community organizations and at the college level\, leading workshops that invite students into exploratory\, meaning-focused making – grounding them in core methods and aesthetics including design\, color theory\, and composition. She brings warmth\, depth\, and attunement to the studio\, helping participants feel comfortable and meeting them wherever they are creatively
