Come join members of the Sebastopol Grange\, the Kiwanis Club of Sebastopol\, and the Sebastopol Gravenstein Lions Club for a hands-on garden box building day at the Grange. \nOur goal is to entice new gardeners and provide them with the resources they need to start their spring gardens. This service project is another way for members of the community to come together to work toward growing more local food and providing habitat for pollinators. All ages and skill levels are invited with a focus on facilitating youth and elders working together. She is the author of Instructions for an Animal Body (Moon Tide Press\, 2021)\, The Mating Calls//of the// Specter (Tusculum Review Chapbook Prize\, 2023)\, Our Sodden Bond (MAYDAY Chapbook Prize\, 2025)\, and Dilapitatia (Moon Tide Press\, 2025)\, and has received support from the Kenyon Review Workshop and the Creative Sonoma Cohort Grant. DESCRIPTION:Just in time for Spring\, learn how to build your own ceramic planter! \nClass will begin with a process overview of the stages involved in working with clay. We will cover basic techniques of hand building and practice applying these skills by creating our very own planters. Techniques demonstrated will focus around building big using the coil method to construct a unique vessel that will be yours to keep after firing. \nClay\, tools and all materials will be provided to you and are included in the cost of class. \nAfter the workshop concludes\, we will fire and glaze your piece in a color of your choice\, and it will be ready for pick up within 2-3 weeks. \nThis workshop will meet Saturday\, May 16 9:00-12:00.
