SUMMARY:The Power of Gentle Presence: A Path Toward Inner Peace and Deeper Connection with Others
DESCRIPTION:What if greater peace and more fulfilling relationships come not from trying to fix ourselves or change others\, but from learning to be gently present with all parts of ourselves?\n\nIn this evening’s conversation with John Amodeo\, he will draw from his new book\, The Power of Gentle Presence: Insights for Inner Peace and Deeper Relationships\, which Tara Brach called “a luminous guide to profound healing\, authentic intimacy\, and spiritual awakening.” He will explore how a caring\, compassionate relationship with ourselves can transform how we relate to others. Drawing from attachment theory\, Buddhist psychology\, and Focusing\, he will discuss how becoming more present with our inwardly felt experience can help us move beyond self-criticism and defensiveness\, deepen intimacy\, and create greater emotional safety in our relationships.\nJohn will share selected passages from his book\, answer questions\, and sign copies afterward.\n\nJohn Amodeo\, PhD\, LMFT\, the author of five books\, has been a psychotherapist for over 45 years. He has lectured and led workshops at universities internationally and was a writer and contributing editor for Yoga Journal.
