A lifelong hiker and naturalist\, she has explored the coastlines\, grasslands\, hills\, and mountains of Sonoma\, Lake\, Mendocino\, and Colusa counties since childhood. Deeply concerned about the degradation of Northern California’s oak woodlands\, April combines her passions for photography and research to foster greater awareness and appreciation of Quercus—the oaks\, a keystone species.

DESCRIPTION:Sebastopol World Friends presents a special community screening of the excellent documentary film\, Soldiers of Song\,about the efforts of musicians in helping people in Ukraine to respond to the darkness of the war. This film\, produced in 2024 and directed by Ryan Smith\, was presented to critical acclaim at the Tribeca Festival in 2024. The screening\, presented in association with Sebastopol Rotary\, Rotary District 5130\, and St. Stephens Episcopal Church will be at 7pm on August 21st at St. Stephens Church\, 500 Robinson Rd. in Sebastopol. Doors will open at 6pm for a wine/beer reception. Admission is $40.
