She covered the Syrian refugee crisis in Greece and Turkey and has been awarded grants and fellowships from The Pulitzer Center\, Logan Nonfiction Program\, and Mesa Refuge\, where she was the Peter Barnes Long-Form Journalism fellow. She lives in San Francisco. \nMichael Krasny\, PhD\, is recently retired as Professor Emeritus of English at San Francisco State and served for nearly a quarter of a century as the host of Forum\, on KQED public radio\, where he was the recipient of many awards and interviewed most of the nation’s leading writers\, politicians and thinkers. He is the author of a number of books\, including Off Mike\, Spiritual Envy and Let There Be Laughter\, as well as co-author of Sound Ideas.
