Nancy Kelsey is the first woman of European descent to have crossed over the mountains into California. Lorie Florence, a local educator and living history buff portrays Nancy Kelsey and tells of the historical figure’s harrowing adventures over the mountains. During the talk, Nancy will teach the participants some basic map skills and tips about surviving in the wilderness.
