SEBASTOPOL CEMETERY WALK

October 2 @ 6:00 pmOctober 3 @ 8:00 pm
$50.00

Dare to wander into Sebastopol’s past-where history whispers from the shadows. Tickets are now available for the 23rd annual Cemetery Walk, hosted by the Western Sonoma County Historical Society. This year’s Cemetery Walk is being held on Friday, October 2nd and Saturday, October 3rd . There are 4 walking tours each night offering 4 starting time slots and 1 sit down performance on Saturday inside at the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church sanctuary.
The evening begins at the Church parking lot. From there, cemetery guides, accompanied by the spirited Hubbub Band, will escort guests to the Historic Burbank Cottage to meet Luther Burbank himself! Guides will then lead you through the Experiment Farm to the Sebastopol Memorial Lawn where you’ll move through the grounds vignette by vignette — six evocative performances, each revealing a story long resting beneath the headstones. Sturdy shoes and flashlights are advised! This year guests will visit and hear the stories of : William Hair, Honoria Toumey, Etta and Mark Hall, Celesta Imogene Faulker, The Smith Family and the Cemetery itself. After the walking tour you will head back to the Luther Burbank Historic Cottage for a brief tour inside and then guides will escort guests back to the Church Hall where a delightful dessert will be prepared and served by the high schools Culinary Arts program headed by Sarah Piccolo. There will be other surprises as well. The sit down performance on Saturday will also enjoy dessert in the hall. Tickets for the event can be found this year on the Society’s website www.wschs.org under the calendar of events page. The cost is $50 and all proceeds go to the Western Sonoma County Historical Society to manage the programs and properties of the Luther Burbank Experiment Farm and the West County Museum.
