Science Buzz Cafe # 475 MIRACLE ON THE MOON: Apollo 11 Mission

50 years after the moon landing Apollo 11 remains a miracle as Armstrong and Aldrin floated from the command module into the lunar lander leaving Collins behind. As the tiny craft flew toward the moon little did we know at the time that behind the calm serenity there was a nerve-racking cascade of blaring false alarms, missed landing zones and no fuel.

Dennis will provide a PowerPoint photo gallery along with incredible stories behind the first human steps taken on that “Magnificent Desolation” called the Moon.

Detective Colthurst has been a full time sworn Police Officer for 35 years and in the law enforcement profession for 42 years. He recently retired from the Sebastopol Police Department after 33 years of service and is currently on the local hospital district board.
