Come help explore how citizens, businesses, and city government can work together to:

  • Increase compost and recycling diversion from businesses, events, and schools
  • Reduce single use take-out food packaging, including straws
  • Support the creation of living wage and good green jobs
  • Bring back local composting operations to Sonoma County

The City Council invites everyone to come hear this presentation by local Zero Waste advocates as they consider ways to make Sebastopol a Zero Waste city.

The goal of Zero Waste is a systematic redesigning and careful management of products, packaging, and processes to minimize volume and toxicity of waste at all stages.  In a Zero Waste system, all resources are recovered without landfilling or burning.  In other words: No Burn, No Bury, No Toxics.
