The historic apple orchards of Sonoma County reflect the very soul of our rural community, but over the last two decades more than fifty percent of these cherished orchards have disappeared.
Slow Food Russian River’s “Save Our Orchards” project believes we can slow this decline—one tree, one orchard, and one apple at a time.
You can help preserve our heritage by joining us for a free, fun community event
Support local farmers and explore booths with fresh apples, local ciders, spirits, baked goods, and local apple products and taste a wide varieity of local apples. Bring the kids for face painting, caramel apples, and a hand apple press for kids to press and taste fresh apple juice. If you have apple trees at home, meet with experts to learn how to keep them healthy.
