Blessing of the Animals at the Playground Cafe

All creatures great and small are invited to the Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 5th at 1:00 pm at the Playground Café. This event is open to the entire community and welcomes not only pets, but also stuffed animals and photos of beloved pets who can’t be there in person. The Playground Café is located at 500 Robinson Road in Sebastopol.

The event will include a special blessing for each pet, honoring the joy and companionship they bring to our lives. Free treats will be available for canine friends, and the Playground Café will be serving delicious food and drinks for humans to enjoy before and after the blessing.

“This event is really about gratitude,” said The Rev. Emily Hyberg, an assisting priest at St. Stephen’s. “We’re coming together in community to acknowledge the unique role animals have in our lives, whether that’s a dog, cat, bunny, goat, or a beloved stuffed animal. So, everyone is invited to come and celebrate the gift of animals and the love we have for them.”
