Big Idaho Potato Truck Visits Sebastopol!
Event Navigation
Related Events

On June 27th, the Big Idaho Potato Truck will be in Sebastopol.
The 72ft long truck carries a 28ft long Idaho russet potato that stands over 11ft tall and weighs over 12,000 lbs. No, it’s not a real potato. The Truck will be visiting Sonoma County to commemorate Luther Burbank’s discovery of the russet potato in 1871. The $150 that Burbank received when he sold the potato allowed him to travel to California and put Santa Rosa and Sebastopol on the horticultural map.
The Big Potato Truck will be parked in front of the West County Museum and Sebastopol Chamber of Commerce from the late afternoon of June 26th through the early morning of June 28th. Fun events for children and adults will take place on June 27th from 10am-2pm. This will be a once in a lifetime photo op!
Everyone is welcome and all events are free. Don’t miss it!
