Please join us for a gentle, loving, and skillfully supported gathering.

  • Bring your sadness, stories, terror, silence, anger or hope.
  • Come quietly, wildly or with much weighing on your heart.
  • Come with old sorrows or fresh ones.
  • Come to talk, to heal, and to “rise again”.

There is a place for you, fire weary or not, no matter your sorrow or loss(es).

This Community Grief and Grace Gathering has been in the works for months but is even more important in the wake of recent fires and their aftermath. To join us, you need only be HUMAN and your feelings of sadness, grief or loss do not have to be fire related.

And related to the Fires:
There’s been grace and a deepening sense of community over the past several weeks. Yet many of us also felt some degree of trauma and most of us have felt feelings of grief and loss. Grief and trauma are best transformed when shared. In fact, as social critters, this is the ONLY way they truly transform–via sharing, witnessing and being witnessed. Healing takes time and kind attention. Let’s give our experiences the care and dignity they deserve so we can be whole and healthy on the other side…

We’ll have time for reflection, sharing and creativity.
In small groups, we’ll have the opportunity to talk about our experiences and why we came.
The day culminates with a simple, beautifully supported ritual that promises transformation and a lessening of heartache and burden.

Please bring artifacts, photos, statues, stones, etc.,that depict your feelings of “GRIEF”, “FORGIVENESS”, “HOPE” and “ANCESTORS”. You will be taking these items back home.

You may also bring one or more biodegradable items that represents your loss, anger, sadness, fear, grief, etc., (e.g., a picture, stone, wood, carved object, etc) These will be added to the Community Bundle and will not be taken back home.

You’re also welcome to bring:

  • snacks
  • drinking water
  • tissues
  • art supplies or journals
  • flowers or artifacts for a community altar
  • flameless candles
  • photos or pictures of ancestors, allies or helpers
  • fabric: red, white, blue or black(large and solid colored)
  • unscented candles: white, red, blue or black

By Donation.
